“May the sacred science of Yoga inspire us to become such masters, to find peace and joy within ourselves and to share the same with all humanity”

Swami Satchidananda

Ashlyn Yamaoka

Ashlyn began her journey with Yoga in October of 2013 and practices daily with her then three-year-old son, instilling her mission of light-heartedness and dispelling the whimsical trivialities of the world that plagues us all. Immediately following one Bhakti flow with Coco Zhang she found her existential calling – Power yoga and Bhakti. She continued on this journey and is completed her 200HR YTT certification in Power yoga, August of 2014.  Led by Dorian Wright, and Coco Zhang, at Power Yoga Hawaii where she primarily teaches.  Ashlyn has also trained with Jody Komitor in the winter of 2015 and is certified in yoga for kids, and children with special needs.

Ashlyn has a long history with physical expression predating Yoga. Born and raised on the island of Kaua’i, Ashlyn grew up dancing hula. Particularly entranced by the depth and power each movement bears beyond the physical, she fell in love with the ability to tell stories, to share, to teach, and to inspire everyone to transcend the physical into the spiritual and emotional values she holds dear.  Her training and practice has enabled her to segue into Yoga as more than simply a physical form, but a practice that offers clarity, self-love and love for all forms and walks of life.

Continuing her training in 2016.  Ashlyn received her Thai yoga massage certification from Coco Zhang, trained in Hatha yoga with yoga master Yogesh Varum, and attended an Acro Yoga Elemental workshop with AcroYoga.org

Her classes are inspired by her love for acro yoga, arm balancing and inversions. She safely guides her students through postures that strengthen, lengthen, tone and heal the body. Ashlyn believes that for one to reach optimal health and fitness, one must understand both the individual mind and individual body.  Ashlyn demonstrates how to deepen the yoga practice by working together.  Confidence is built, fears are let go, and new space in the heart and life is found.
