Shelby Ho

With 500-hours under her belt, Shelby Ho teaches alignment driven, physical vinyasa flow classes.  Shelby was introduced to yoga by her parents when she was 14 years old. She began studying Iyengar at the East Honolulu Yoga Center with Elaine Chung.  The quiet, calmness, and focus of Iyengar positively affected Shelby throughout her teenage and adult life.

Her classes are challenging yet calm and she loves to focus on inversions and arm balances. Shelby strives to create space for the body and mind of her students through breath work, vigorous sequencing, and long holds.

 Shelby moved to Santa Monica to pursue a masters degree in urban planning and sustainable cities. She fell in love with the Ashtanga and Iyengar blended classes offered at Yogaworks and was fortunate to practice and study under many knowledgeable and inspiring teachers. Through Yogaworks she completed the 500-Hour teacher training and has been teaching yoga for over four years. While in Los Angeles, she created and developed a high school yoga program at a charter school in Hawthorne.

Yoga has impacted Shelby for over 18 years. She aspires to bring yoga to all ages and people. Shelby believes in the positive, truthful changes that occur on the mat and invites you for some challenging sweaty fun.
